PCO Hill Jack Plant

Jack plant on PCO Hill. 1967 (Lagasse Pico Canyon Collection - used by permission)

In Pico Canyon, there was one jack plant on CSO Hill (named after California Star Oil Works Company) and one on PCO Hill (named after Pacific Coast Oil Company). In 1974 and 1975 the engines at both jack plants were salvaged by Greg Johnson and friends. A general description of a jack plant is on the CSO Hill jack plant site. There were a lot more photos taken of the CSO jack plant than the PCO plant because the CSO plant was closer to Mentryville and easier to get to. The PCO plant was near the top of the hill making it hard to get to.
